Carbon Reduction Plan

Carbon Reduction Plan
Baseline Year: 2024

1. Commitment to Net Zero

O&F Safety and Compliance Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030 in line with NHS Wales’ supply chain goals.

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline year is 2024. This is the first year that we have calculated our carbon footprint. The main sources of emissions are from business travel and the small amount of office administration conducted from home-based workspaces.

Emission SourceScopeTonnes CO₂e (2024)
Business travel (engineers’ cars)Scope 1 & 33.2
Home office energy useScope 20.4
Purchased goods & services (consumables)Scope 30.6
Total4.2

3. Current Measures in Place

  • Engineers work from home for all admin, reducing the need for office commuting.

  • Route optimisation software used to minimise travel distances and fuel use.

  • Energy-efficient lighting and appliances used in all home workspaces.

  • Waste segregation and recycling for office consumables and packaging.

4. Planned Measures to Reduce Emissions

  • Switch to renewable energy for all home-based workspaces where possible.

  • Gradual adoption of low-emission or electric vehicles for engineers.

  • Use of digital documentation to reduce paper use and printing.

  • Selection of suppliers with demonstrable sustainability credentials.

5. Progress Monitoring

We will review emissions annually, publish updated figures on our website, and report on progress towards our 2030 Net Zero target. All reductions will be achieved through operational efficiency, behaviour change, and renewable energy use, with any residual emissions offset in credible schemes.
